He said proceeds were raised through a various car shows, which the club hosted during the year, including the show that was held in late September during the Guinea Jubilee in Bena.
He announced the following donation amounts: Habitat for Humanity, $9,000; Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, $900, Guinea Jubilee/Guinea Heritage Association, $500; Abingdon Volunteer Fire and REscue Department, $500, and an additional $500 to a local family that was having a difficult time over the holidays.
Im very proud of the members of our club and the way the community helps support the club during its hosting events," Keefer said. "Our club is not just a club; its a close-nit family of friends. I cant wait to see what 2010 and the years to come have in store for our club."
The club plans to have its fourth annual Guinea Jubilee Car Show Sept. 25, Keefer said. It is also planning on holding numerous car shows at local businesses in Gloucester and Newport News to help support those businesses' causes.
The association meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at The Point Bar & Grill, located in Gloucester Point Shopping Center. Owning a Mopar product is not necessary to joining the club. The term Mopar refers to any Chrysler-built vehicle.
